In December 2007 my wife Nonna and I had the honor of meeting His Holiness, the XIVth Dalai Lama, while I was a volunteer at the Tibetan Delek Hospital in Dharamsala, India. A popular writing by the Dalai Lama says: "We are only visitors on this planet. We are here for ninety or one hundred years at the very most.
During that period, we must try to do something good, something useful, with our lives.
If you contribute to other people's happiness, you will find the true goal, the true meaning of life" I believe that this organization, the Thai Burma Border Health Initiative, is in keeping with these words. It is an attempt to do something useful, to contribute to other people's happiness. I hope you will agree.
